About the PracticeDr. Gallivan is committed to excellence by pledging to provide the highest quality of orthopaedic care possible. Along with the treatment of immediate or chronic problems, he strives to create individualized treatment plans that maximize his patients comfort, and function so they can return to a more active lifestyle. Dr. Gallivan is a fourth generation surgeon whose mission for compassionate orthopaedic care remains his most valued asset. Dr. Gallivan’s sphere of practice embraces sports medicine and total joint replacements. He incorporates cutting-edge technologies such as, computer assisted surgery (CAS) "navigation" for total knee/hip replacement, minimally invasive surgery, Arthrosopic knee/shoulder procedures and hip resurfacing. Happily married, Dr. Gallivan considers family a high priority. He and his wife, Karen, have five children and have lived and practiced in Santa Barbara since 1992.
